Construction
Thank you for your patience as we work toward a sustainable groundwater basin for all Pajaro Valley residents.
The College Lake Pipeline Project will construct a 6-mile, 30-inch water main to transport treated water from the College Lake treatment facility to over 5,500 acres of farmland via the Coastal Distribution System, 22-miles of pipelines currently delivering supplemental water (including recycled water) to farms along the coast to preserve the groundwater resources of the Pajaro Valley. The College Lake Project will also construct a Water Treatment Plant and Intake Facilities along Salsipuedes Creek and Holohan Road.
Week of 5/22/23
Surveying work for the College Lake Water Supply Project pipeline starts Monday on Holohan Road. This short-term work will occur overnight and is anticipated to be completed this week.
Crews will be “potholing” to identify existing underground utilities in advance of the construction of the pipeline. The surveying work will start at 76 Holohan Road and head east toward Lakeview Road. A 200-foot-long moving traffic control will be in place as crews use a vacuum excavator to dig straight down to where existing utilities are located.
Work will take place between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., per the terms of the County of Santa Cruz permit. Once crews pass the Highway 152 intersection, work hours will shift to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
